Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
  • Line a tray with parchment paper. Lay out the thinly sliced jalapeños in a single layer.

Baking

  • Bake the jalapeños for 1 to 1.5 hours, flipping halfway through.
  • They are done when they are crisp and break easily.

Grinding

  • Once cooled, grind the jalapeños into flakes or a fine powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.

Mixing

  • In a bowl, combine the crushed jalapeños with coarse sea salt and lemon zest (or lime zest), mixing thoroughly.

Storing

  • Transfer the Zesty Jalapeño Salt into a sealed jar and store in a cool, dry place.
