Ingredients

For the Camembert

  • 1 whole Camembert wheel (250g) Comes in its wooden box.
  • 2 tbsp hot honey For a milder taste, mix regular honey with chili flakes.
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves Adds an aromatic touch.
  • 2 tbsp shelled pistachios, toasted and chopped Provides a delightful crunch.
  • 1 tsp olive oil Enhances richness.
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper For finishing touch.
  • as needed Toasted baguette slices, crackers, or grissini Essential for dipping.
  • as needed Apple or pear slices (optional) For a refreshing bite.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (355°F).
  • Remove any plastic wrap from the Camembert and place it back into its wooden box or a small ovenproof dish.
  • Score the top rind of the Camembert in a crosshatch pattern.

Assembly

  • Drizzle olive oil and hot honey over the scored surface.
  • Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves and black pepper.

Baking

  • Bake the Camembert uncovered for 15 to 18 minutes.
  • After removing from the oven, drizzle with remaining hot honey and sprinkle with toasted pistachios.

Serving

  • Serve hot with bread, crackers, or fresh fruit for dipping.

Notes

Allow the Camembert to come to room temperature before baking for even melting. Keep an eye on it to avoid overbaking.
