Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • Slice the Vidalia onions into 1/4-inch rounds and layer them evenly in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the layered onions with salt, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
  • Place the pats of unsalted butter evenly over the seasoned onions.
  • Top the onions with shredded Italian blend cheese and then sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan on top.

Baking

  • Bake the dish for 35–40 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For intense flavor, consider adding fresh thyme or basil before serving. Mix in diced bell peppers or mushrooms for added texture.
