Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil until soft. Then, add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess grease.
  • Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and let it simmer for 3–5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour the beef mixture into the greased baking dish and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  • In a bowl, combine biscuit mix and milk. Stir until just combined, then drop spoonfuls of dough over the cheesy meat mixture.
  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown. Brush with melted butter and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, sauté minced garlic or diced bell peppers with the onions. Use ground turkey or chicken as alternatives to beef. Enhance with different cheeses or add veggies like corn or peas. Make ahead for easy meal prep.
