Instructions

Marinate the Steak

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chunks of top sirloin with mirin, minced garlic, ginger paste, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, ground white pepper, and a sprinkle of kosher salt. Toss well to ensure each piece is well-coated in the marinade. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

Cook the Veggies

  • In a large pan, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add sliced carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms. Stir often for about 10 to 15 minutes or until golden and tender. Season with garlic powder and salt.

Sear the Steak

  • Increase heat to medium-high and add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the same pan. Add marinated steak and sauté for about 3 to 4 minutes or until cooked to desired doneness. Add teriyaki or BBQ sauce and toss to coat.

Serve It Up

  • Plate the seared steak and veggies, serve with fried rice, and drizzle Yum Yum Sauce on top.

Notes

Marinate the steak overnight for richer flavor. Customize veggies based on preference or season. Avoid overcrowding the pan while searing for better crust.
