Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks juicy and sweet
  • 3–4 pieces orange habanero peppers stemmed for delightful heat
  • 1/2 cup white onion chopped for a sharp kick
  • 2 cloves garlic smashed to release their aromatic flavor
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar for a tangy backbone
  • 2 tbsp lime juice adding a citrusy zing
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup enhancing the sweetness
  • 1/2 tsp salt for seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric adding color and health benefits
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika optional for a hint of earthiness

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather and measure all your ingredients to ensure the cooking process flows smoothly.

Cooking

  • In a pan over medium heat, lightly sauté the pineapple, chopped onion, smashed garlic, and stemmed habanero peppers for about 4–5 minutes until softened.
  • Transfer the sautéed mixture to a blender and add the apple cider vinegar, lime juice, honey or maple syrup, ground turmeric, salt, and smoked paprika if desired. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture into a saucepan and simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes to deepen flavors and slightly thicken the sauce.

Cooling and Storage

  • Remove the saucepan from heat and let the sauce cool down. Transfer into sterilized bottles or jars and refrigerate for up to one month.

Notes

Customize your hot sauce by experimenting with different fruits such as mango or adjusting spice levels. Remove seeds for a milder taste.
