Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole ripe but firm pear, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups arugula
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus extra for brushing
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Place the flatbread on a baking sheet and brush it with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Lay the pear slices evenly over the surface of the flatbread.
  • Scatter the Gorgonzola cheese and chopped walnuts generously over the pear slices.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted.
  • While the flatbread is baking, toss the arugula in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Once the bread is done baking, remove it from the oven and top it with the arugula mixture.
  • Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider adding fresh thyme, caramelized onions, or a pinch of red pepper flakes. Use a pizza stone for an extra crispy crust.
