Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by mixing the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast in a bowl.
  • Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Unwrap the Camembert cheese and score the top rind in a crisscross pattern.
  • On a parchment-lined baking tray, place the Camembert box in the center.
  • Divide the dough into 12–14 equal balls and arrange them around the cheese.
  • Allow the dough to puff up for an additional 20–30 minutes while preheating the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Baking

  • Mix melted butter, grated garlic, chopped rosemary, and a pinch of sea salt.
  • Brush the dough balls with the garlic butter mix and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Add rosemary sprigs on top and brush with melted butter if desired.
