Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter along with the brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbling (about 3 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and optional cinnamon.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and pecan halves.
  • Pour the warm caramel mixture over the cereal and pecans, and gently toss to coat.

Baking

  • Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through for even caramelization.

Cooling

  • Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet, then break into clusters.
