  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Infusing the bread with deep chocolate flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder The secret to achieving a perfect rise.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhancing the rich sweetness of the chocolate.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar The classic sweetening agent.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Infusing moisture and caramel undertones.
  • 2 large eggs Providing structure and a tender crumb.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract The aromatic component that complements chocolate perfectly.
  • 1/2 cup whole milk For a luscious, moist texture.
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce (slightly warmed) The star ingredient that takes this bread to the next heavenly level.

Chocolate

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks Melting into gooey pockets of chocolate goodness.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well mixed. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until it becomes smooth and creamy. Stir in the milk until fully incorporated.
  • Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Stir in the chocolate chips or chunks.
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and drizzle the warmed hot fudge sauce over it. Top with the remaining batter and smooth the surface with a spatula.

Baking

  • Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let the bread cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or an extra drizzle of hot fudge. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for even mixing. Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing to maintain its structure.
