For the Shrimp Filling

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill Adds a wonderful herbaceous note that complements the shrimp.

For the Bread

  • 1 large ciabatta loaf, sliced lengthwise The sturdy bread base that holds everything together while offering a crispy texture when baked.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the peeled, cooked shrimp along with Old Bay seasoning, cooking for 1 to 2 minutes until warmed through. Remove from heat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed shrimp with mayonnaise, minced garlic, fresh dill, chives, shredded Cheddar Jack cheese, as well as salt and pepper. Stir until everything is well integrated.
  • Slice the ciabatta loaf lengthwise to open it up. Spread the shrimp and cheese mixture generously on both halves.
  • Place the prepared ciabatta halves onto a baking sheet and pop them in the preheated oven. Bake for about 10 to 13 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven, slice into sticks, and serve warm.

Notes

You can use pre-cooked shrimp to save time. Feel free to experiment with different cheese varieties like mozzarella or pepper jack. For a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes.
