Glaze

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and stir in the milk until combined.
  • Gradually mix in the crushed Ritz crackers, followed by adding the finely chopped onion and shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Gently incorporate the ground beef until just mixed.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it into the greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake in your preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  • Prepare the glaze by whisking together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard in a separate bowl.
  • After 30 minutes of baking, spread half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
  • Place it back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Spread the remaining glaze on top and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Once out of the oven, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and avoid overmixing the meat to prevent a dense loaf. Variations can include adding any favorite seasonings or vegetables like bell peppers.
