Ingredients

Filling Ingredients

  • 8 oz lump crab meat Fresh or imitation, giving a burst of ocean flavor.
  • 4 oz cream cheese Softened for a rich, creamy texture.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For added meltiness and stretch.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Provides creaminess and moisture.
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped Adds a touch of color and flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder A warming note that elevates the taste profile.
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning Perfectly seasoned for a hint of spice.
  • Salt & black pepper to taste Essential seasonings to balance flavors.

Crescent Roll Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough The flaky, buttery base for each roll.
  • 1 egg beaten For the gloss and browning on the rolls.
  • 1 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning (or sesame seeds & garlic flakes) For that extra crunch and flavor on top.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, mayonnaise, chopped chives, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning. Carefully fold the ingredients until well mixed, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assembling

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate the dough into triangles.
  • Starting from the wide end, spoon a generous amount of the crab filling onto each triangle. Roll up the dough around the filling, tucking in the sides slightly to secure it.
  • Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they’re spaced evenly.

Baking

  • Using a pastry brush, coat each roll with the beaten egg to achieve a beautiful golden finish.
  • Sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning on top of each roll for an added crunch and flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Once baked, allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them as they are or pair with garlic butter or lemon aioli for dipping.

Notes

For added depth of flavor, try mixing in a teaspoon of lemon zest into the filling. You can consider adding sautéed onions or chopped bell peppers to the filling for extra texture and taste. Leftover filling can be spread on crackers for a delightful dip.
