Ingredients

For the Garlic Parmesan Bread

  • 2 pieces hoagie rolls or sub rolls, fresh and crusty
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened to a creamy texture
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced finely for an aromatic punch
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese adding a savory depth
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley for a hint of color and flavor

For the Cheesesteak Filling

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak tender and juicy
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced to bring sweetness
  • 1 tbsp olive oil to sauté
  • to taste Salt and pepper to enhance all flavors
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese for a melty finish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Mix the softened butter with minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and dried parsley. Generously spread this blend on the insides of your rolls.
  • Toast the rolls in a skillet or oven until golden and crisp.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until soft and caramelized, about 5–7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and fully cooked. Mix in the caramelized onions.

Assembly

  • Load the steak and onion mixture generously into the toasted garlic parmesan rolls.
  • Place the loaded sandwiches under a broiler for 2–3 minutes until the cheese bubbles and melts.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

To elevate your cheesesteak, experiment with different cheeses or add bell peppers and mushrooms. A panini press can help create a crispy exterior.
