Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, using a fork, mash the drained and rinsed black beans until mostly smooth.
  • Add in the breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and the egg to the mashed beans. Mix everything together until well combined.
  • With your hands, form the mixture into burger patties, about 3-4 inches in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
